Dot Privacy Policy
Dot is a personal AI calling service operated by Callabra AI LLC ("Callabra," "we," "us"). This policy explains how we handle information about Dot users and the people Dot calls. It covers the Dot app at personal.callabra.ai, its connector at calls.callabra.ai, calls, and related account communications. Our main website and business products have separate policies.
The short version
- Dot uses your verified mobile number to place calls at your request and produces transcripts and summaries.
- Dot does not store audio recordings of calls. Audio is processed live, and Dot stores written transcripts and summaries.
- Your connected AI assistant can receive your call results and relevant information from Dot.
- We don't sell Dot call transcripts or account details for advertising. Our marketing website has separate tracking practices.
- You can manage your details in Settings and request access, correction or deletion at privacy@callabra.ai.
1. Information we collect
Account information: Your name and pronunciation, email, verified mobile number, sign-in and verification records, preferences, subscription and account status, saved profile facts, contacts and any notes you choose to provide.
Calls: The numbers contacted; who you wanted to reach; your assistant's calling instructions, permitted disclosures and private in-call notes; call date, duration, status and voicemail outcome; a live transcript; and AI-generated summaries, results and follow-up items. We may check whether a number appears to be a business or personal number. Content can include sensitive information if it is discussed or provided.
People Dot calls: Their phone number and name if available, what they say during the call, the resulting transcript and summary, and any request not to be contacted again.
Technical and billing information: IP address, browser/session details, authentication and security events, support emails, usage records, subscription charges, Stripe customer identifiers and limited payment-card details such as card brand and last 4 digits. Stripe handles full card numbers, not Callabra.
Connected assistants: The assistants linked to your account, relevant connection credentials and information they send to or request from Dot.
2. How we use information
We use information to verify and secure accounts, make the calls users request, follow calling instructions, transcribe conversations, create summaries, deliver results to connected assistants, bill for usage, provide support, prevent fraud and misuse, respond to complaints, meet legal obligations and improve Dot through service statistics and technical diagnostics.
Our safety systems may automatically review call requests and transcripts, decline calls, issue warnings or place calling on hold. Human staff may review reported misuse or account restrictions. We do not use Dot call transcripts to target advertising to you or the people called.
3. Live audio, transcription and AI providers
Dot transmits live call audio through telecommunications and speech-processing services so its AI can understand and respond. Dot does not record or store call audio as a call-recording feature. Transcripts, summaries, call requests and related information are stored and processed as described here.
We configure Dot's Deepgram speech-to-text requests to opt out of Deepgram's Model Improvement Program, so those requests are not used for Deepgram model training. Deepgram may still keep request metadata and usage logs. Other providers have their own permitted operational retention practices. Anthropic and OpenAI may process call instructions, transcripts and summaries to operate Dot. We may change providers as the Service evolves, subject to applicable privacy obligations.
Please do not include highly sensitive details that aren't needed for the call. If a recipient does not want to continue, they can tell Dot to stop.
4. Who receives information
Your connected assistant: With your connection, Claude, ChatGPT, Muse or another supported assistant may receive instructions, live transcript updates, summaries, and relevant saved facts or contacts. Its provider processes information under the terms and settings of your account with that provider. A saved fact marked Never restricts what Dot is authorized to say on a call; it is not necessarily hidden from your connected assistant.
People you call: They may see your outgoing caller ID and hear your name and information Dot is authorized to share. Caller ID display can vary by carrier.
Service providers:
| Provider | Function |
|---|---|
| Twilio | Calling, phone verification, caller ID and number lookups |
| Deepgram | Live speech-to-text |
| Anthropic / OpenAI | AI conversation, summaries, safeguards and fallback processing |
| Cartesia | AI-generated voice |
| Stripe | Subscriptions, payment processing and invoicing |
| Resend | Sign-in and account emails |
| DigitalOcean | US-based application hosting and storage |
| Cloudflare | Network delivery and security |
We share information with these providers as needed to operate Dot, under their applicable agreements. We may also disclose information when legally required, to address fraud or safety concerns, in a business sale or restructuring, or at your direction. We do not sell Dot personal information.
5. If Dot called you
A Dot user asked our AI to contact you. Dot identifies itself as an AI assistant acting for that person. While speaking, Dot processes your words to understand and respond; the user and their connected assistant may receive a transcript and summary. Callabra and the providers above process information to deliver and protect the Service.
You can say “stop calling me” or similar words. Dot will end the call and block further calls to your number from that user's Dot account. Other users' accounts are not automatically blocked by that request. You can report an unwanted call or ask about information we hold about you at privacy@callabra.ai. We may verify your connection to the number or information before acting, and we will honor additional legal obligations where applicable.
6. Retention and deletion
We generally keep active-account profile information, saved contacts, call transcripts, summaries and call history while the account exists or until that information is otherwise deleted. Account deletion is intended to remove or de-identify account information and call content in active systems, but some information may remain where needed for billing, legal compliance, security or technical operations.
We may retain information reasonably needed for billing, charge disputes, taxes, legal compliance, abuse prevention or security. This can include limited call metadata, verified-number or contact information, technical logs and provider-held records. Diagnostic logs can contain limited fragments of call text. Backup copies may remain until they are rotated or removed. Stripe and other providers may retain their own transaction or operational records under their applicable policies and legal duties.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account; if your plan is still active, this also cancels it. Deletion may be unavailable while an unpaid charge or account restriction is unresolved. If you cannot use that option, email privacy@callabra.ai. We will consider any legally valid deletion request even if self-service deletion is unavailable.
Retention varies by category and purpose. We seek to retain information only as long as reasonably necessary or legally required, but cannot guarantee immediate deletion from backups, logs or independent providers.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You can review call history, edit saved account information, update contacts and sharing rules, reset assistant connections and cancel your subscription using the app.
Email privacy@callabra.ai to request access, a copy, correction or deletion of personal information. We may verify your identity. Where applicable US state privacy laws cover Callabra, you may also have portability, opt-out, appeal and nondiscrimination rights. We will comply with applicable request procedures and deadlines. We do not sell Dot account data or share Dot call content for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If you live in Israel, you may exercise your statutory rights to inspect personal information and request correction or deletion where Israeli law provides. Providing optional profile information is voluntary, but a name, email and verified number are needed for the account and calling service. Without call-related information, Dot cannot carry out a call. You can contact us about your information or the processing of a call made to you.
8. Cookies, security and international transfers
The Dot app uses essential session technology to keep you signed in. Stripe's payment form may use cookies or device data for payment security. The public callabra.ai marketing website may use advertising or analytics technologies described in its separate Cookie Policy, including the Meta pixel; those marketing-site tools are not part of the Dot call-transcription system.
We use reasonable security controls, including encrypted web connections, access restrictions and safeguards for credentials. No system is completely secure. We will notify people or authorities of incidents when required by law.
Dot's main application data is hosted in the United States, and providers may process it there or in other countries. International processing is subject to applicable data-protection law, including relevant Israeli transfer requirements.
9. Children, changes and contact
Dot accounts are for adults 18+. We do not knowingly allow minors to sign up. Contact us if you believe a minor has an account.
We may update this policy and will post the new effective date. We will give additional notice or seek consent for material changes where required by law.
